Every step run by people who have done it before

Data work has a reputation for running long with nothing visible until the end. We have delivered more than 50 software and AI projects, and each stage is paid for only once it is working.

  1. A free first conversation

We start with a free call to understand the systems your data sits in now and what you need it to do. You leave with our view of what is worth building, and we will say plainly when the work is not worth doing.

  2. Agreed before anything is built

Before any money is committed, you get a written breakdown of what the work costs, what it saves you in time or spend, and how long it takes to pay for itself. The price is then fixed against that scope.

  3. Fixed milestones, staged payments

The build is split into contractual milestones agreed with you in advance, and payment falls due as each one is delivered. You see working software at every stage rather than at the end, which is what keeps the risk on our side.

  4. Support once you are live

Data systems need attention as a business changes, so we stay on hand once yours is running. We adjust pipelines when a source system changes, fix what breaks and extend what is working well. All code and intellectual property belongs to you.

Data projects we have delivered

We work inside the systems a business already relies on, extending them where that is possible and replacing them only where it is necessary.

  • Supply Chain App & Platform

A supply chain ordering and delivery tracking platform CodeLeap designed and built for a wholesale distribution client — driver mobile app, order management backend, web platform for account management, and an administrative dashboard.

  • CRM and Sales Automation for a Global Events Group

CodeLeap wired together a global events group's Pipedrive, SmartDocs and Xero so won deals raise Xero invoices, signed contracts update the CRM, and multi-event agreements split cleanly into per-event deals.

The tech

We build on what you already own where that works and introduce something new only where it earns its place, so the choice follows the job.

  • Power BI

Most businesses already have Power BI through their Microsoft licence, which makes it the quickest route to reporting your team can open without learning anything new.

  • Metabase and Looker Studio

Where a business has no Microsoft licence to build on, both give your team readable dashboards over the same warehouse at little or no licence cost.

  • AWS, Azure and Supabase

We host on AWS or Azure, whichever fits how you already buy software, and on Supabase where a smaller estate does not warrant the weight of either.

  • PostgreSQL

A warehouse most businesses will never outgrow, at no licence cost, and the same database our own platforms are built on for reporting and applications alike.

  • Snowflake and BigQuery

Both are built for large volumes and heavy queries, and charge for what you use rather than for a server running all day, suiting reporting one database cannot serve.

  • dbt and Airflow

Pipelines have to run on a schedule, in the right order, with somebody told when one of them fails, and these are the tools that handle that.

  • Python

The language behind anything that has to be built rather than configured, from custom pipelines to the processing that sits between two systems with no ready-made connector.

  • Business systems

Xero, Sage, Salesforce, HubSpot, Shopify and NetSuite all hold data worth joining up, and each publishes an interface that a pipeline can read from on a schedule.

  • And much more

These are the tools that come up most often rather than the limit of what we work with. Fivetran, Databricks, SQL Server and Redshift all have their place, and anything you already run can be included.

What our clients are saying

Real reviews from clients we have delivered for, on Clutch and elsewhere.

  • The enthusiasm, understanding of our mission, and passion from the first few minutes of the call were the deciding factors in choosing CodeLeap. Within 3 months of our app launching, we had over 1,500 downloads, appeared in leading publications from Forbes, The Metro, Marie Claire, Women's Fitness and many more, and started raising further investment.

Any questions? We're here to answer

Everything you might want to know before starting a project with us.

  • A data warehouse is a single database that holds copies of the information from all your separate systems, kept up to date automatically and organised so it can be queried in one place. Rather than replacing your accounting or CRM software, it sits alongside them and brings their records together.

  • Data migration means moving records out of one system and into another, usually when an old system is being retired or a spreadsheet is being replaced by a database. The difficulty is rarely the moving itself, but matching fields between the two, handling records that do not fit, and proving that nothing was lost.

  • The usual signs are practical rather than technical. Two people produce different numbers for the same question, someone spends a day each month copying figures between systems, or a report you need does not exist because the information sits in three places. Another is that new software keeps being postponed, because connecting it to what you already run costs more than the software itself.

  • Probably not. The work scales down to a single set of pipelines feeding one database, which is well within reach of a business of ten or twenty people, and it often matters more at that size because there is nobody whose job is to keep the numbers straight.

  • Almost certainly, although it may need work first. Incomplete records, duplicates and inconsistent formats between systems are normal and are dealt with as part of the build rather than treated as a reason to delay it. An audit establishes how much cleaning is needed before anything is committed.

  • In most cases yes, at least in part. Models and forecasting rely on consistent historical records, and the most common reason AI projects fail to deliver anything is that the underlying data was never organised for it. The groundwork required is usually narrower than a full platform, though.

  • A short audit that establishes what you have and what a build would cost is £3,000. One defined piece of work, such as connecting a set of systems or moving off spreadsheets, starts at £5,000. A full platform covering every source in the business starts at £10,000.

  • Running costs are modest and separate from the build. Cloud hosting for a small warehouse starts at around £120 a month, and Power BI licences are about £11 per user per month. Costs rise with data volume and refresh frequency, and they are estimated before the build starts.

  • An audit takes one to two weeks. A defined piece of work, such as a set of pipelines feeding a warehouse, typically runs from six to sixteen weeks, depending on how many systems are involved and what state the data in them is in. Larger platforms are staged across several months.

  • In almost all cases, yes. Most business software offers an interface for reading data out, and where one does not exist the data can usually be extracted another way. Accounting, CRM and ecommerce systems such as Xero, Sage, Salesforce, HubSpot and Shopify are all routinely connected.

  • Yes, and it is a common request. We start by reviewing what already exists, since a system that is poorly documented is often sound underneath and cheaper to repair than to replace. Where a rebuild genuinely is the better option, the review establishes that before any money is committed.

  • It depends on whether the work ends. A UK data engineer costs around £500 a day as a contractor, before recruitment time and the risk of hiring for a skill nobody in the business can assess. For a defined build a fixed-price project is usually cheaper, while continuous internal demand justifies a hire.

  • Our own full-time staff, since we do not subcontract any part of a project. You work with a project manager who owns delivery from end to end and manages the developers allocated to you, and CodeLeap's founders stay involved throughout the project and afterwards for strategic advice.

  • Wherever you need it to be. The hosting region is chosen at the start, so data can stay in the UK or the EU where your own policies or your customers require it. The platform runs in your own cloud account, which means the keys to it stay with you.

  • You do. All code and intellectual property transfers to the client on payment, including the pipelines, the database structure and the documentation, and the platform runs in your own cloud account. Continued support from CodeLeap is not a condition of keeping what has been built or changing it later.
