Workitude
An employee wellbeing app, prototyped
Workitude came to CodeLeap at the idea stage: a mobile app to help people track their working life, leave and wellbeing. Over a few weeks we designed the interface and built a clickable prototype the founder could test with real users before committing to a build.
What we did CodeLeap delivered the visual design direction, the key screen layouts and a clickable Figma prototype, and set it up for remote usability testing, so design decisions were validated with real users before any code was written.
Wellbeing, by design. Workitude's founder had a clear vision for an employee wellbeing app, covering leave days, personal insights and a sense of how work is really going, but needed to see and test it before investing in development. She partnered with CodeLeap to turn that vision into something tangible. Working closely over a few weeks, our designers shaped the visual style, laid out the key screens and built an interactive prototype ready for real users.
Product features
-
Interactive mobile prototype
A fully clickable Figma prototype of the app, with smooth screen-to-screen navigation and subtle page transitions. The founder could feel how the app would work long before any code was written, which is the whole point of prototyping properly rather than sketching.
-
Visual design and UI
We explored several visual directions and settled on a brighter, more modern look covering logo, colours, splash screen and a consistent screen layout. That moved the product away from the heavy colour blocks that had started to feel dated.
-
Insights and leave screens
We designed the insights and leave-days screens, working through how to present personal data clearly and usefully, including a collapsible layout that keeps dense information easy to scan. These are the screens the product lives or dies on, since they carry everything a user comes back for.
-
User-testing setup
We set the prototype up for remote usability sessions so the founder could watch how people moved through key journeys. Real reactions fed back into the design before any development budget was committed.
Challenge
An employee wellbeing app asks people to share how work is actually going, which is a lot to ask through an interface that feels impersonal or clinical. The design had to earn that openness, particularly on the screens presenting someone's own data back to them. The founder also needed evidence rather than opinion. A static set of screens would have produced polite feedback in an interview, so the prototype had to be complete and interactive enough that people would use it as they would a real app.
Solution
CodeLeap delivered the visual design direction, the key screen layouts including insights and leave days, and a fully clickable Figma prototype with navigation and transitions that make it behave like a real product. We then set it up for remote usability sessions so the founder could watch real people move through the journeys. She came away with a tangible, testable product before spending on a full build, and a clear, credible design to take into user interviews and on towards development. Design decisions rested on evidence rather than guesswork.
