Challenge

The UK home improvement market is enormous, but the process of finding a reliable tradesperson is often frustrating — reliant on word-of-mouth, patchy directories, or platforms that don't fully vet the tradespeople they list. Our client wanted to solve this properly: building a trusted, high-quality marketplace where homeowners can confidently find reliable tradespeople for any project. The platform needed to serve two very different user groups equally well — busy homeowners looking for hassle-free access to reliable trades, and trades looking for a professional platform to grow their business and manage their pipeline.

Solution

CodeLeap developed a comprehensive two-sided marketplace platform with mobile apps for both homeowners and tradespeople, plus the backend infrastructure to support the vetting, matching, messaging and reviews workflows. The design of each app is tailored to its audience while sharing a coherent product experience, and the trust systems — vetting, reviews, verified messaging — are built into the core of the platform rather than bolted on. The result is a marketplace where quality and reliability are structural, not marketing.
