Property developer showcase
An online shop window for developments
A UK proptech startup wanted to give property developers an online shop window for their whole pipeline — every development, every unit — and give estate agents a controlled way to take those units to market. CodeLeap designed and built the platform: developer accounts, agent access, listing approvals and reservations.
What we did CodeLeap built developer accounts covering unit detail and floorplans, an agent approval workflow that gates listing rights, reservation tracking against live inventory, and the admin interface behind it.
Every development, one showcase. A property developer's pipeline is typically visible only to whichever agents happen to ask for it. Our client, an early-stage UK property company, wanted to put it online: developers sign up, publish their portfolio of developments with each unit's bedrooms, bathrooms, floor area and floorplan, and the agents selling them work from the same live picture. CodeLeap designed and built the web app, the backend and the admin behind them.
Product features
-
Developments and units published
A developer signs up, publishes each development and manages its units, covering bedrooms, bathrooms, floor area and a floorplan per unit. The whole pipeline sits in one structured, browsable place instead of a PDF sent on request.
-
Agents, with developer approval
Estate agents, a master agent plus third-party agents per development, browse a developer's developments and take units to market. A listing only goes live once the developer approves it, so what is on the market is always what was signed off.
-
Reservations against inventory
Developers and agents record and edit reservations against the units themselves, so availability is tracked in the same system the listings come from. There is no separate spreadsheet drifting out of date alongside it.
-
Web app, backend and admin
A responsive React web application on a Django backend with a full admin, hosted in the cloud. One platform carries the developer, agent and buyer-facing sides of the product together.
Challenge
The product had to serve two parties whose interests only partly align. Developers want reach but not loss of control over how their units are presented or who sells them; agents want to list and sell without waiting on permission. The approval workflow sits exactly on that tension and had to satisfy both. Inventory accuracy was the other requirement. A marketplace showing units that are already reserved loses credibility quickly, so reservations had to be recorded against the same records the listings are generated from.
Solution
CodeLeap designed and built the responsive React web application, the Django backend and the full admin behind them. Developers publish their developments and units with full detail, agents browse and take units to market under a developer approval step, and reservations are recorded against live inventory so availability stays accurate. The platform gave the client a real, working developer showcase to put in front of its market, with everything working end to end. The developer side was later retired when the client's strategy changed, which is the honest shape of early-stage work: build well, learn fast, and keep what earns its place.
