Chat and calling for frontline workers
CoCentric came to CodeLeap to build the heart of Connect, their platform for frontline teams: a chat and calling app for workers with no corporate email. We designed the product, built its iOS, Android and web apps, and created a reusable design system.
What we did CodeLeap built the iOS, Android and web apps with team chat, voice and video calling and QR-code onboarding, and delivered a reusable white-label design system so the product can be presented under different brands without rebuilding the interface.
Frontline and deskless staff rarely have a work email, which makes giving them reliable, secure ways to reach colleagues harder than it looks. CoCentric built Connect to give every employee a workplace identity and a single place to communicate, and chose CodeLeap to build the part that mattered most. We designed and built the messaging and calling experience and a reusable design system, wiring both into CoCentric's own identity and HR systems.

Messaging built for teams
One-to-one and group chat with everything people expect, including photos, files, GIFs and voice notes, polls, reactions, mentions, threads, replies, forwarding and pinned messages. It runs on a proven messaging engine, because reliability at this layer is what decides whether people use the app or go back to their personal phone.

Voice and video calling
One-to-one and group voice and video calls built straight into the app. Colleagues can reach each other and talk face to face without dropping out to WhatsApp or a personal number, which is where workplace conversation goes when the official tool cannot carry it.

Onboarding without a work email
A worker scans a QR code at their workplace, confirms an access code by SMS and signs in. The login flow connects to the organisation's own identity system, so people are working from day one without an email address ever being involved.

White-label design system
A reusable design system keeps every screen simple and familiar while letting each organisation apply its own logo, background and accent colour. It means a new client organisation is a configuration rather than a redesign.
Challenge
Every assumption in standard workplace software breaks when the user has no corporate email. Identity, onboarding, password resets and invitations all normally run through an inbox, so the whole entry path into the product had to be rebuilt around something a frontline worker does have. The communication layer itself also had to be genuinely good. Frontline staff already have messaging apps they like on their own phones, so anything slower or less capable than what they use socially would simply be ignored, whatever the company policy said.
Solution
CodeLeap built the messaging and calling experience at the centre of Connect, with full-featured team chat on a proven messaging engine and voice and video calling built into the app. Onboarding runs on a QR code scanned at the workplace and an access code confirmed by SMS, connecting into the organisation's identity system so a worker is signed in and working from the first day. Alongside the apps we delivered a reusable white-label design system, which keeps the interface consistent while letting each organisation carry its own branding. Frontline teams get one reliable place to message and call each other, without the friction of personal apps or shared logins.
