Dogs Trust
An interactive quiz inside a charity site
Dogs Trust wanted a more engaging way to reach people online. CodeLeap built the interactive quiz game — a self-contained browser package led by a friendly character — and delivered it to the charity's lead agency to deploy straight onto the Dogs Trust website.
What we did CodeLeap built the multi-step React quiz with a personalised results screen and integrated it as a native component matching the site's design language and performance standards, so it reads as part of the site rather than an embedded third-party widget.
Dogs Trust is one of the UK's largest animal welfare charities, with a digital platform that serves a very substantial public audience. CodeLeap was brought in to integrate an interactive quiz experience into that existing ecosystem, building the React application and embedding it so that it operates as a native part of the site. Work of this kind is judged by how little it draws attention to itself, since the measure of success is a new feature that visitors experience as though it had always been part of the platform.
Product features
-
Interactive quiz module
A custom-built quiz application takes users through a structured multi-step flow, from their first input to a personalised set of results, with the dynamic interactions and clear navigation needed to hold the attention of a general public audience.
-
Seamless platform integration
The quiz was integrated fully into the existing Dogs Trust website, matching its design language and meeting its performance standards, so the feature operates as a native component rather than an embedded third-party widget. Achieving that inside an established platform, without disrupting the surrounding user journey, was the substance of the engagement.
-
Results experience
A dedicated results screen presents each user's outcome clearly and engagingly, designed to make the information immediately legible rather than requiring interpretation, which is what determines whether the exercise feels worthwhile at the end.
-
Responsive UI components
The interface was built on a modern component-based architecture, with interactive elements and carefully aligned visuals that hold together across the full range of devices and screen sizes a charity's audience will be using.
-
Cross-team collaboration
The project required coordination across multiple stakeholders including the charity's own teams and separate development and integration parties, and clear communication with structured workflows was what kept delivery aligned across all of them.
-
Rigorous quality assurance
Extensive testing and troubleshooting covered user flow validation, alignment corrections and performance optimisation, because a feature going live on a platform of this visibility has to work correctly on the first day.
Challenge
Dogs Trust wanted to increase engagement on their digital platform by introducing an interactive feature that could both educate and guide their visitors. The complication was that the work involved integrating an application into an established website with its own design standards, performance expectations and user journeys, all of which had to be respected rather than worked around. A charity's platform carries a level of public scrutiny that leaves little tolerance for a feature that looks bolted on, loads slowly or behaves inconsistently on a phone. The integration also spanned several teams, which meant the technical work sat alongside a genuine coordination challenge in keeping everyone aligned on scope, standards and sequencing.
Solution
CodeLeap supported the integration of a React-based interactive quiz into the Dogs Trust platform, ensuring it functioned as a cohesive part of the website rather than an addition to it. Careful coordination between the parties involved kept the work aligned with the organisation's digital standards, while front-end optimisation and rigorous testing across user flows, layout and performance produced a feature that behaves reliably for a large public audience. The finished experience improves engagement on the platform while leaving the surrounding journeys and the site's established design integrity entirely intact.
Tech stack
The tech chosen was our speciality, enabling fast development of performant user interfaces and a reliable infrastructure. The Dogs Trust platform enhancements are available on desktop and mobile web.

SBUSBU is a UK energy broker placing gas and electricity contracts for business customers, in a market where the deal goes to whoever quotes first and follows up hardest. Their chance to win each customer sat in Salesforce as a contract end date with nothing acting on it, so CodeLeap automated everything between that date and the signed contract. Within three months the team was generating five times the qualified leads, without adding headcount.

WeSnagA major UK construction company ran snagging on spreadsheets, paper checklists and manual follow-ups, which could not scale to dozens of contractors, hundreds of units and thousands of defects. CodeLeap built a platform digitising the whole defect lifecycle, replacing hundreds of hours of manual coordination and leading to further work extending it.

NicheComNicheCom needed to prove that a surveyor could measure a property and produce a finished floorplan during a single site visit, without redrawing it back at a desk. CodeLeap designed and built the iPad app that makes that possible.
