Insurance claims platform
End-to-end claims automation for an insurer
A client partnered with CodeLeap to build and run the platform behind its claims operation — notification, triage, external assessment, decisions and the repair work that follows — all in one place, replacing a patchwork of separate tools.
What we did CodeLeap designed and built the full platform, including an AI assessor-matching engine that scores adjusters on specialism, geography, capacity and prior activity, then runs the instruction loop itself, re-instructing anyone who does not respond until enough assessors are secured.
Notification to sign-off, in one flow. Our client is an established insurance company handling a high volume of claims each year across several lines of business. Its claims operation had grown around a patchwork of separate systems — a legacy case management tool, shared inboxes, spreadsheets and supplier portals that did not talk to each other. The company set out to replace all of it with a single platform that would automate the claims process from first notification through to final settlement. CodeLeap partnered with them to design and build that platform from the ground up, replacing the manual, email-heavy workflows that dominate claims handling with a structured, intelligent and largely automated pipeline.
Product features
-
Claim notification and case management
Policyholders and brokers notify claims through a guided submission flow, providing policy details, third-party information and supporting evidence. The system captures all data in a structured format, assigns claim reference numbers automatically, and creates a centralised record that tracks each claim through every stage of its lifecycle.
-
AI-powered assessor matching
A custom AI engine analyses each claim and recommends suitable loss adjusters and assessors based on specialism, geography, capacity and prior activity. It can automate the instruction process entirely, sending instructions, waiting for responses and re-instructing non-responders on a configurable schedule until the required number of assessors is secured.
-
Assessment and decision workflow
The full assessment lifecycle runs inside the platform: handlers assign assessors manually, from a panel list or via AI, assessors accept or decline and submit structured assessment forms with scored questions, and handlers submit decisions with configurable decision phrases. Policyholders see progress in real time.
-
Automated settlement and repair pipeline
Once a claim is accepted it flows automatically into the settlement module, with policy data and files pre-populated from the assessment. Claims managers assign suppliers for repair work, track deliverables across eight upload slots and notify policyholders on completion, through automated workflows that replace the previous spreadsheets and manual emails.
-
AI-assisted document review
Assessment reports, invoices and evidence files can be processed by an AI engine that returns a summary with flagged discrepancies and suggested amendments, which a handler reviews before approval. It cuts turnaround on the review phase substantially, as an alternative or complement to manual checking.
-
Multi-scheme architecture
The platform supports multiple insurance products and schemes under one account, each with its own assessment form templates, email templates, handling workflows, assessor requirements, deadline defaults and branding, so several lines of business run from a single infrastructure.
-
Automated email and notification system
Every stage triggers configurable, template-driven email notifications, from assessor instructions to decision letters to policyholder settlement alerts. Templates support variable substitution and are editable per scheme, which removes the need for manual correspondence.
-
Comprehensive audit trail
Every action is logged: status changes, file uploads, emails sent, assessor responses, handler decisions and field edits. The full history is accessible per claim, providing the transparency and accountability a regulated industry requires.
Challenge
Claims handling is burdened by manual, fragmented processes: handlers chase assessors by email, track claim status in spreadsheets, coordinate repair work via ad-hoc messages, and rely on institutional knowledge to keep everything moving. Our client had lived with these inefficiencies across a legacy estate of disconnected tools and saw an opportunity to automate the entire pipeline.
The challenge was substantial. The system needed to handle the full claims lifecycle from first notification through assessment, decision-making, settlement, supplier instruction, repair tracking and final sign-off, with each stage involving different stakeholders and different requirements. It also needed to support multiple schemes with individual configurations, integrate AI for both assessor matching and document review, and provide the transparency and audit capabilities that a regulated industry requires, as a production-ready platform handling thousands of claims simultaneously.
Solution
CodeLeap developed a comprehensive, end-to-end claims platform that automates the entire claims lifecycle, covering notification, AI-powered assessor matching and automated instruction, structured assessment, decision-making, and a full post-acceptance settlement and repair pipeline within a single integrated platform. The assessor matching engine identifies and instructs suitable assessors automatically, removing most of the time handlers spend on one of the most labour-intensive parts of the process.
The automated settlement module replaces spreadsheet-based tracking with a workflow where accepted claims flow directly into supplier instruction, repair and sign-off, with supplier assignment, deliverable tracking and policyholder notification handled by the system. Multi-scheme support lets the client run several lines of business from one platform, and comprehensive audit trails provide the transparency the industry demands. It replaced a patchwork of legacy tools with a structured, automated pipeline that now underpins the client's entire claims function.

One analyst's eye, scaled. Market prediction platformA financial analysis firm had a proven chart-reading method that only one analyst could run, taking hours a day and capping how many instruments the firm could cover. CodeLeap turned that method into a machine-learning platform serving daily predictions through an API.

SBUSBU is a UK energy broker placing gas and electricity contracts for business customers, in a market where the deal goes to whoever quotes first and follows up hardest. Their chance to win each customer sat in Salesforce as a contract end date with nothing acting on it, so CodeLeap automated everything between that date and the signed contract. Within three months the team was generating five times the qualified leads, without adding headcount.
