AI teaching tool redesign
Redesign for an AI lesson-planning tool
An AI toolset that helps UK teachers plan lessons and build classroom resources asked CodeLeap to refresh its look. We redesigned the core pages of the web app and created a new visual style and logo, working closely with the founders in Figma.
What we did CodeLeap redesigned the lesson planning, resource building and account pages, and created a new visual style and logo, iterating live with the founders in Figma so decisions were settled in the room rather than across rounds of written feedback.
A teacher's tool, redrawn. The product gives teachers AI tools for lesson planning, worksheets and reports. As it found its audience, the interface and brand needed to catch up with what the software could actually do, and the founders brought CodeLeap in to redesign the core pages and refresh the identity. Our designers reworked each page in Figma, usually the whole flow rather than one screen at a time, sharing every version with the founders before sign-off.
Product features
-
New visual style and logo
A refreshed look built on the brand's orange, with a softer, more distinctive logo and a consistent style across the product. The founders reviewed the new direction and took to it straight away.
-
Redesigned core pages
CodeLeap redesigned the main pages teachers use, from the tools library through to account and support screens. For several of them we designed the full flow rather than a single screen, so the experience holds together from one step to the next.
-
Extra screens mapped and designed
Beyond the core set, we mapped and designed further screens the founders needed, including My Content and Pricing. Those are the journeys that decide whether someone signs up and gets value, so leaving them out would have undercut the rest.
-
Close collaboration in Figma
The whole redesign ran in Figma with the founders commenting directly on the work. That tight loop meant each page was shaped around their input and agreed before anyone considered it finished.
Challenge
A product that has found its audience often outgrows the interface it launched with, and this one had. The AI tools underneath were doing serious work for teachers, while the pages around them and the brand presenting them still looked like an early-stage product. The redesign also had to respect what already worked. Teachers were using the tool daily, so this was a case of raising the standard of something functioning rather than starting again, and the founders needed to see and agree each decision rather than receive a finished rebrand at the end.
Solution
CodeLeap delivered a complete set of Figma designs covering the core pages teachers use and the additional screens around signing up and finding value. The visual identity was refreshed on the brand's existing orange, with a softer logo and a consistent layout replacing the heavy colour blocks that had started to date the product. Working directly in Figma with the founders commenting as we went meant the direction was agreed early and each page signed off as it landed. They came away with a clearer, more confident interface and a brand to match, ready to take into development whenever they chose to build it.
Tech stack
The tools chosen were our speciality, enabling a full redesign agreed page by page with the founders.

AWS CloudRoomAmazon's CloudRoom initiative pairs schools around the world with AWS employee volunteers who teach students about cloud technology, and doing that by hand across many territories was never realistic. CodeLeap built the platform behind it alongside creative agency Marble London, and it reached thousands of students in territories from Tokyo to Dubai to New York.

AWS Girls' Tech SeriesAmazon wanted to spark lasting interest in science, technology, engineering, arts and maths among girls aged eight to fourteen, and to make it free to anyone anywhere. CodeLeap built the platform with Marble LDN, designed from the start to carry future editions and territories rather than to serve a single campaign, and it has helped Amazon reach thousands of young learners.

SBUSBU is a UK energy broker placing gas and electricity contracts for business customers, in a market where the deal goes to whoever quotes first and follows up hardest. Their chance to win each customer sat in Salesforce as a contract end date with nothing acting on it, so CodeLeap automated everything between that date and the signed contract. Within three months the team was generating five times the qualified leads, without adding headcount.
