Sport, fitness and games

Bespoke software and AI for sport and games

We work with sport, fitness and games businesses on the software behind it, from the systems that keep members and fixtures in order to the products people play.

Solutions we've built power teams at:

  • Amazon Web Services
  • Auto Trader
  • Cedars-Sinai
  • Jet2holidays
  • Jaguar Land Rover
  • Dover Street Market
  • Dexters
  • Lookers

What we build for sport and games businesses

Sport and games businesses run on membership systems, booking tools and spreadsheets that were never built to work together. Much of what holds it together sits with a few people, and leaves when they do. We build the software that takes that on, and the products people play.

  • Fan and player engagement products

You probably know what you would like to put in front of your supporters or players, and have no way to build it. We design and build the products behind that, whether it is a companion app, a prediction or voting game, or a season-long challenge people come back to.

  • Game and interactive product development

A game idea is easy to describe and hard to prove, and most people would rather test one before committing a budget to it. We design and build playable products, from a prototype you can put in front of players and investors through to a full release on both stores.

  • Membership, booking and payment tools

Memberships, sessions, fixtures and payments usually sit in separate systems, and someone spends their week moving information between them. We build the tools that hold that together and connect them to what you already run, so joining, booking and paying work the same way for everyone.

  • Automation for everyday administration

Registrations, renewals, fixture paperwork and chasing unpaid fees all run on someone entering information that already exists elsewhere. We look at where the hours go, then build automation for the parts that repeat, which matters most where the people doing them are part-time or giving their time free.

  • Compliance and safeguarding record tools

Coaching qualifications, DBS checks, insurance and medical forms tend to live in a folder and a spreadsheet, and nobody notices an expiry until it matters. We build record tools that keep all of it current, with reminders before a date passes and a clear view of who is covered.

  • Retention and attendance dashboards

You already know who has stopped turning up, somewhere in the booking data, but finding them takes an afternoon nobody has. We bring attendance, renewals and spend together into dashboards your team can read at a glance, so quiet members get a nudge while it still makes a difference.

Built across sport and games

A few projects we're proud to share, each one advancing our mission to raise the bar and build a better digital future with our clients.

  • Skamper

Skamper needed a technically demanding tracking and event app for runners and trail enthusiasts brought to market inside three months. CodeLeap built and launched it on both stores in that time, and it reached thousands of downloads within months of release.

  • Go Quest

Go Quest Adventures had a vision for an app leading players along a hidden path of clues and puzzles through a city, and needed the game, the commercial layer and client-run content management delivered together. CodeLeap built all three over the course of a year.

  • Big Trails Adventures

Big Trails Adventures wanted one app for hikers and adventure travellers, covering trail planning, navigation, accommodation and trip documentation together. CodeLeap designed and built it for iOS and Android, treating offline use as the normal case rather than a fallback.

What our clients are saying

Real reviews from clients we have delivered for, on Clutch and elsewhere.

  • The enthusiasm, understanding of our mission, and passion from the first few minutes of the call were the deciding factors in choosing CodeLeap. Within 3 months of our app launching, we had over 1,500 downloads, appeared in leading publications from Forbes, The Metro, Marie Claire, Women's Fitness and many more, and started raising further investment.
    Charlie CEO, Becon

You never feel like you are one of many clients, and they ensure they are always there to help with any need you have, no matter how big or small.
Amelia Parmiter Marketing Manager, AWS - Marble
  • CodeLeap made me feel like my options were limitless in terms of what could be achieved, which was critical to me as we were creating something very unique. I'm glad I chose Codeleap over a large corporation as the personable approach resulted in a smooth and pleasant experience.

Flexible, transparent pricing

Any questions? We're here to answer

Everything you might want to know before starting a project with us.

  • Sometimes, and the honest answer depends on how much time the current way is costing. Scope and price are fixed before the work starts, and payments follow finished stages, so there is no open commitment. An AI readiness assessment is £3,000 and takes a week. Design and build of a first version starts at £5,000, and a full build from £15,000. Smaller pieces of automation often cost far less than that.

  • Usually, yes, and that is normally the better route. Most membership and booking platforms have a way in, and the useful work often sits in connecting them to the rest of what you run rather than replacing them. Where a system has no route in, that constraint is identified during scoping rather than after the work has started, together with what the alternatives would be.

  • In stages, starting with a prototype rather than a full build. A designed, playable version is enough to put in front of players and funders, and it usually costs a fraction of a release. Design and prototyping work starts at £5,000, and a full build from £15,000. Where the idea does not hold up in testing, that is cheaper to find out early. The first stage is scoped to answer that question.

  • It is part of the design rather than a later step. Access is limited to the people who need it, records of checks and consents sit against the right person, and hosting can be in the UK. Removing someone's data is a single action rather than a search across several systems. All code and data belong to you once the work has been paid for.

  • Usually, because the work is phased rather than delivered in one release. The first phase is scoped to be useful on its own, so a project can start mid-season without a long wait for anything you can put in front of members. Where a date cannot be met, that is established at scoping rather than discovered halfway through. Your fixture and renewal dates shape the plan from the first week.

  • Not always, and the exceptions are identified at scoping. AI works where there is enough consistent information to work from, and where records are spread across a membership system, a spreadsheet and a group chat, organising them comes first and pays for itself. The £3,000 AI readiness assessment takes a week and includes a verdict where AI is not worth the investment, with what would need to change first.
