What we build for logistics, manufacturing and utilities

Across logistics, manufacturing and utilities, the systems that run the operation are usually already in place. What sits between them is people re-entering information, chasing paperwork and rebuilding the same report each month. We build the software that takes that work on, and connects what you already run.

  • Automation for everyday administration

An order arrives by email and someone types it into the system. A job sheet is filled in on site and keyed in at the end of the shift. We build automation that captures the information once and passes it on without anyone re-entering it.

  • Integrations between the systems you run

Your ERP, accounts package, warehouse system and a set of spreadsheets each hold part of the picture, and people move information between them by hand. We build the connections between them. Where an existing tool already handles part of the work properly, it stays in place.

  • Traceability and compliance reporting tools

Batch numbers, serials, certificates and sign-offs are all recorded properly, then assembled by hand whenever an auditor, a regulator or a customer asks for them. We build tools that capture the evidence once and pull it together on demand, in the format it has to be presented in.

  • Operational dashboards and reporting

Your business already records what every job cost, where the time went and which customers order what. We build reporting that gets those figures out of the systems they sit in and in front of the people making pricing, planning and scheduling decisions, without a monthly spreadsheet exercise.

  • Customer-facing tracking and self-service portals

Customers now expect to see where an order or a job has reached without ringing anyone, and tenders increasingly ask whether you can offer it. We build portals and tracking tools that show customers the position directly, in your own branding, and answer the question before it is asked.

  • Knowledge tools and internal search

How a machine is set up, why a customer is handled a particular way, which supplier to call when a delivery fails. Much of this sits with a few long-serving people. We build searchable knowledge tools that hold it in one place and keep it current.

Projects we have delivered

A few projects we're proud to share, each one advancing our mission to raise the bar and build a better digital future with our clients.

  • Wholesale supply chain startup

A food supply chain technology company had proven its concept across six markets in Europe and North America, but the product ran on spreadsheet-driven data handling that could not carry the order volume ahead of it. CodeLeap built the platform underneath it, which now serves more than 30,000 distributors processing over a million orders a month.

  • SBU

SBU is a UK energy broker placing gas and electricity contracts for business customers, in a market where the deal goes to whoever quotes first and follows up hardest. Their chance to win each customer sat in Salesforce as a contract end date with nothing acting on it, so CodeLeap automated everything between that date and the signed contract. Within three months the team was generating five times the qualified leads, without adding headcount.

  • Vehicle imaging platform

A company producing vehicle photography at scale needed every image to look consistent, at a volume where no team could check each one by eye. Over a multi-year engagement, CodeLeap built the capture apps and computer vision pipeline that standardise, enhance and quality-check every shot automatically.

Any questions? We're here to answer

Everything you might want to know before starting a project with us.

  • Usually, yes. Most projects in this sector are built around the systems already in place rather than replacing them, and the integration work is scoped and priced before anything is agreed. Where a system has no documented route in, that constraint is identified during scoping rather than after the work has started. Older systems are common and are rarely the obstacle people expect them to be.

  • It depends on scope, and the figures are fixed before you commit. An AI readiness assessment is £3,000 and takes a week. Design and build of a first version starts at £5,000, and a full build from £15,000. Every project is quoted at a fixed scope and a fixed price, with payment split across milestones, which keeps a project aligned with your cash flow rather than requiring it all up front.

  • It has to work around you, so it is planned that way from the start. Software is delivered in stages, and a new system normally runs alongside the existing process until the people using it are confident. Cutover is scheduled around your operation rather than ours, including out of hours where that is the only sensible window, and the old process stays available until it is clearly no longer needed.

  • You own it. All code and intellectual property transfers to the client on payment, so what has been built is yours to keep, host, change or hand to another developer. Continued support is available and many clients take it, but it is not a condition of keeping what has been built. There is no licence fee for software we have written for you, and no ongoing platform charge.

  • Not always, and the exceptions are identified at scoping. Machine learning needs enough consistent history to learn from, and where records are incomplete the honest answer is that structuring the data comes first and pays for itself on its own. The £3,000 AI readiness assessment, which takes a week, exists for exactly this question and includes a verdict where AI is not worth the investment.

  • That depends on how they are designed, which is why the design starts on your site rather than in a document. Tools used in a cab, a warehouse, a plant or a customer's property have to work with gloves on, in poor light and with no signal, and they have to be faster than the paper method they replace. Where they are not, people go back to paper.
