IndieGO
AI game discovery, designed and prototyped
IndieGO wanted a better way for players to find indie games they'd actually love. They partnered with CodeLeap to design and build the web app — a chat-led way to describe the game you're after, browse recommendations and dig into each title.
What we did CodeLeap delivered the full screen set, the interaction flows, a scalable design system and a clickable Figma prototype of the whole journey, working through the hardest part of the design, which was making a conversational flow cope with vague phrasing and still return results that feel considered.
IndieGO is a concept for an indie game discovery platform in which an AI chatbot recommends games from a description of what a player is in the mood for, rather than leaving them to work through a catalogue. CodeLeap designed the complete product experience and delivered it as a fully interactive Figma prototype, covering the interface, the interaction flows and a design system ready for a development team to build from. The engagement was design-only by intent, allowing the client to validate the concept and the user journey before committing to a build.
Product features
-
AI chatbot discovery
The concept centres on a conversational interface where players describe what they are looking for and receive tailored recommendations in return, replacing catalogue browsing with a conversation. Designing this interaction well was the core of the project, since a conversational discovery flow succeeds or fails on how it handles vague, human phrasing.
-
Game recommendation interface
Recommended titles are presented with a clear visual hierarchy and concise information, so a player can assess an unfamiliar game quickly and decide whether to look further. Getting the density right matters here, because too much information stalls the decision and too little gives a player no basis for making one.
-
Discovery journey
The wider experience was designed to encourage exploration across the indie ecosystem, with navigation patterns and interface flows that lead a player naturally from one recommendation into adjacent genres and suggestions rather than to a dead end.
-
Design system
A consistent component library and layout structure were designed to support scalability, so that the concept can be translated into a working platform by a development team without the design having to be resolved a second time. This is what makes the deliverable useful as a foundation rather than as a set of pictures.
-
Interactive prototype
The full journey was delivered as a clickable Figma prototype, allowing stakeholders to move through the product as a user would and to test the concept in something that behaves like software rather than describing it in a document.
Challenge
The client had identified a real problem in the games industry, which is that thousands of indie games exist but very few are discoverable, held back by limited visibility and distribution spread across fragmented platforms. Solving discovery with artificial intelligence is an appealing proposition, but the difficulty lies in the interaction rather than the technology, because a conversational recommendation flow has to cope with players who cannot always articulate what they want and must return results that feel considered rather than arbitrary. The brief was to design a product experience that made that flow feel natural, made exploring indie games engaging in its own right, and could be validated before any development budget was committed.
Solution
CodeLeap designed the complete user experience and interface for IndieGO, focusing entirely on product design and interaction flows. The work produced a comprehensive set of UI screens and a fully interactive Figma prototype demonstrating how a player would converse with the chatbot, receive recommendations and explore the wider catalogue from there. A supporting design system gives the concept a scalable component and layout foundation that a development team can build against directly. Because the prototype behaves like the finished product, the client's stakeholders were able to validate both the concept and the journey before entering a development phase, which is precisely the point at which that validation is worth having.
Tech stack
The project was delivered as a design and prototyping engagement, with no development phase.

SkamperSkamper needed a technically demanding tracking and event app for runners and trail enthusiasts brought to market inside three months. CodeLeap built and launched it on both stores in that time, and it reached thousands of downloads within months of release.

Let the fans decide. VotaVota is a football app where fans vote during a live match on the decisions a manager faces, including substitutions, formation and tactics, and earn points when they call what actually happens. The founder came to CodeLeap to turn the concept into a designed, interactive product he could put in front of fans and funding partners. The prototype did what he needed it to do, and the app is expected to go into development in the coming year.

SBUSBU is a UK energy broker placing gas and electricity contracts for business customers, in a market where the deal goes to whoever quotes first and follows up hardest. Their chance to win each customer sat in Salesforce as a contract end date with nothing acting on it, so CodeLeap automated everything between that date and the signed contract. Within three months the team was generating five times the qualified leads, without adding headcount.
