Richly illustrated onboarding
The app includes interactive and richly illustrated screens. The onboarding process welcomes new users to The Frida Project community, shares the story & mission of the startup, and informs users of the company's strict privacy policies.
Social-network features
A social-media-like newsfeed is at the core of the app. It invites users to share their experiences and get support from peers who are going through similar challenges. Users can comment on and react to other people’s posts (love, laugh, cry, etc) to create a more meaningful way of engaging with each other.
Therapist-led support groups
Support groups are small private groups of 5 users who all share similar interests, and are led by one licensed therapist. The therapist’s role is to encourage participants to share their feelings and discuss their experiences with each other, all within a safe and private environment.
Easy-to-use learning materials
Therapists can schedule daily learning materials to be released in their groups, such as advice on how to cope with issues like as anxiety, imposter syndrome, bereavement, etc. These materials are designed by CodeLeap and consist of richly illustrated slides, aiming at bringing a positive tone at each step of the user journey.
Challenge
Mental health support
The startup required an app that had social-network-like features, while providing users with the trust & anonymity required in mental health support. The app needed to be a space where users would feel comfortable interacting with other participants within the support groups, while the therapists should also be able to share learning materials to their group participants.
Cost-efficient MVP
A main priority for the founders was to launch a cost-efficient MVP that would be able to validate their app idea and collect user feedback, which would then help them decide how to spend the rest of their development budget in the best possible way to benefit their users.
Solution
Go-to-market
CodeLeap launched The Frida Project’s MVP for iOS and Android within less than 3 months, focusing on launching the core app features first and allowing the startup to go-to-market as quickly as possible to start collecting valuable user feedback.
Premium user experience
Over the subsequent months, CodeLeap enhanced the app and built the remaining features to create a premium user experience. Soon after launch, the app reached an average of 4.9 stars rating on the app store and touched the lives of thousands of users.
